Some weeks ago I had a crochet flow and made this nice frog together with some mice. Doesn’t he look like Frog from Frog and fiends? But when you kiss a frog with a crown, like this one, you can be surprised by what next happens. Maybe he becomes a prince.
The frog is made from thin cotton yarn, but still 20 cm high. This because of his long legs. I wanted the frog to be a bit natural. The legs have toes, long toes.
Because of his likeness with the character from frog and Friends, I gave him a nice swimming trouser and because it is already chilly in here, a long red scarf. The crochet flow faded away, other wise I should make all his friends, or I will do it some other time. For now he is on his own.
This is one of my first amigurumi crochet attempts, It is a little dragon designed by Lucy Ravenscar. The pattern is to find on Ravelry. Because it was early in my amigurumi days I had to translate the pattern in dutch or in notations I could understand. I had to count a lot. But I succeeded. My yellow yarn was not sufficient to do the whole dragon, so I made the wings and spikes in an other color. It turned out to be a lovely little dragon. One modification I made. The legs are movable and can be put in different positions. Furthermore I put some wire in the tail and head section, so you can bend these also. We had much fun with playing with the dragon, so I wanted to make another one, but that project was hibernated for almost a year. So I will introduce this dragon in another post.
The pattern of the Cthulhu amigurumi is now in my patterns section. There is also a page about the Cthulhu project in the project section of my blog. I will contribute more in the next days or weeks depending on how much time I have. The amigurumi is called Mini Thulhu.
I am very busy with my Cthulhu project. With some other ladies that like to crochet, we are making Cthulhu items. That can be an household object or an cross-over or something very different, but wit a cthulhu smile on it. It doesn’t matter as long you like your project. First of all, I made a mini Thulhu or an amigurumi cthulhu. Not that these weren’t made already, but more to make us a nice picture for our Cthulhu project page. The next Cthulhu step was something different, something more appealing. I came up with a handbag! I made a quick drawing and i liked the idea so much, that I could not wait en began as quick as possible>. But first I had to gather the yarn. A bag will cost more than one skein for it is a big item. Well that was not a problem, the local shop had just the color green I needed. And so it begun the start of the crazy cthulhu crochet handbag.
The last week, I was working on a mini Cthulhu. Cthulhu is an ancient God in the books and stories op H.P.Lovecraft. This little fellow will protect you if the ancient One arises from the seas, where she is sleeping. I have the pattern of this little fellow written down and will publish it as soon as I am finished.
I am fascinated by the feegles of Discworld! So they begun to pop up from my working basket. first a male one, with beard and orange hair, Then a clan-mother, the Kelda, also with orange hair, Then a little baby-feegle and so on. It is lots of fun making them appear. They are a kind of pictsies, very small and very naughty and they are blue. Aren’t they adorable? I like the Feegles very much and I thank my Sister in Law for making me acquainted with these little fellows, I have not made photo’s of them all, so with a little patience, soon I will show the whole family, for now only the Kelda and her brother are shown.
